D. Chetwynd modeled this shape and registered it October 25, 1855.  Potters were permitted to name their products and Edward Corn called his Maltese Shape.  Edward Pearson named his Mississippi Shape. Most potters named it Baltic Shape and it was produced as Baltic Shape by G. Bowers, G. Wooliscroft, John Meir & Son, Edward Challinor, T. Hulme and Elsmore & Forster.
