Charles Meigh junior transferred the business of Charles Meigh & Son to a limited liability company in March of 1861. The new company was named the Old Hall Earthenware Company Ltd. This was an extension of the old company, Charles Meigh & Son as the ownership, factory and output remained unchanged. This was the first of the Staffordshire potteries to become an Ltd.
