Notes
Elijah Chetwynd was a partner in the firm Cockson & Chetwynd with Charles Edward Cockson from 1866 until April of 1876. Cockson & Chetwynd then became Cockson & Seddon until 1877 when the business was dissolved. Joshua Seddon then joined with the Birks Brothers to produce white ironstone. Elijah Chetwynd designed and registered what collectors have named Rustic Sprig in February 1879. Though at this time Cockson & Chetwynd and Cockson & Seddon were out of business, much of Rustic Sprig is marked with those two pottery marks.
